Feb. Enrichment

This is all still up in the air but for Feb. we are looking at doing a sew-a-thon we will have 3 sewing workshops and food!!

We will learn how to...

read a pattern and what all those funny signs mean.

make curtians (to be hung up in the institute building)

make aprons out of dish cloths ( bring your own dish cloth if you think you will want one to take home) these are going to be used for out pot lucks to save pretty dresses from getting dirty!

and we will also have a workshop with the basics of sewing ( mending, a simple stich, sewing on buttons, and other fun stuff)

We hope you will make it out!! It shall be super duper fun!!

DON'T FORGET!

We will be having our retreat at Pres. Phillips house on Jan 30th to the 31st . We will provide dinner and will be making some cool surprise stuff!! Papa P has a fire pit so we will be getting our fire on and makin some yummy stuff!! Talk to your RS pres. Stephanie for more info!

Enrichment

Hey guys! I think Enrichment went over well... I know we hit a few hickups with the picture boards but the wreaths and the cards came out very well I think.

We still have a few picture boards at the branch so get with me or stephanie if you are missing yours .

Stephanie went to Hobby Lobby and bought 4 of the poor on's she said that it took 1 bottle for every 2 that she did and she said they came out well.. She discovered (by reading the instructions i handed out let me know if you need a copy) that you glue the pic. down with the modge poge and then the poor on give it the tile finnish.

Thanks to all of you that came out. I am looking forward to the upcoming activities. We are loosing our current enrichment leader but we should be getting a new one shortly. Thanks to Lindsay and her work in enrichment we will miss you tons!!

December comming up!!

This December for our project we will be making a few things:

- Tile Art : We have many LDS inspired pictures (temples and other art work) but if you would like to bring your own that's fine. Large Calendar size works best for the size the wood will be but if you have a smaller pic you want to use please let me know and I will see about cutting something smaller for you.

-Homemade Scrapbook Christmas Cards : make Christmas cards with a personal touch : The Relief Society will provide supplies and some papers. What you need to bring: anything extra you have for embelisments or special sizzors and ect. Make sure to mark what's your's. You could also bring papers to share and trade. :-)

- Fabric Christmas Wreaths : Bring about 6-8 different types of fabric cut about 1/8 of a yard each and a Styrofoam wreath. small pattern designs look best and plain fabrics to mix in also. We will be getting some supplies also so if you aren't able to go shopping then we will have the total amount for each wreath kit before we do the project.

Hi Guys: For those who haven't yet met me; My name is Julie Bera and I am the 2nd co. for the Relief Society in the Texas State University Branch. This means That I oversee Enrichment. However Your Enrichment Leader is Lindsay Allen. I started this Blog to let those of you who missed an Erichment to know what activities took place. I will Share what the spirtual thought was as well as links to any articles that were used and also if possible links to any crafts or activities we did.
I also intend on letting you know what is coming up for our branch enrichment. Please let me know if you would like to see any thing else enrichment related on here .
I have put a few fun wiggets on the side bar so feel free to play around on them as well.
